In competition, an athlete's priority is to focus solely on their preparation, personal routine and performance. In reality, this is not always so simple.

It is my role to eliminate any potential external distractions or problems which can have a detrimental effect on performance. Whatever task needs doing or problem fixing, I will see that it is done.

At an event, I fulfil two roles which, when combined, help to optimise an athlete's or team's performance.

Sports therapist

Provide sports massage

  • Warm up athlete
  • Monitor and analyse physiological performance
  • Ensure athlete remains sufficiently hydrated
  • Prepare and distribute appropriate sports supplements
  • Monitor the psychology of the athlete or team members.

Personal assistant

Organise, prepare and rotate kit and equipment

Resolve any issues which inevitably arise

Arrange for optimum food options to be consumed at the correct times

Oversee the athlete's schedule so they are in the right place at the right time

Provide help and support in any areas which the athlete or team need.
